9:00 - 9:30 - Phonics - ly (adverbs)

Watch the Flashcards video. Look at how to form an adverb by adding the consonant suffix ly to an adjective. Remember that adverbs are useful openers that add more description or a picture to writing.

Note – words ending in ‘l’ will have a double ‘l’ after adding ly. Remember, change root words ending in ‘y’ change to ‘i’.

Look at the ly activity. Create adverbs. Have fun thinking of how to change the meaning of the sentence by using them as openers.

Have you ever been on a Ferris wheel at a funfair, seaside resort or in a city? What was it like?

Name some of the landmarks that you can see from the London Eye - Big Ben, Tower Bridge, The Thames ....

Draw a picture of the London Eye and label it with verbs to describe what it is doing - turning, spinning... and adjectives to describe how high it is - tall, huge, towering....

11:00 - 11:45 - Maths - Make patterns with 2D shapes

Learning Objective: To be able to make patterns with 2D shapes.

Starter: Play the Shape Patterns game

11:45 - 12:00- Handwriting

Today, practise writing the letters 'b' and 'd' correctly as lots of people get these confused. 

Now go to lunch early and have the afternoon off. Have a screen free afternoon. Do some arts and crafts, do some baking, go for a walk, go and play outside.... (send me lots of pictures though)

You don't need to come back for an afternoon zoom. Enjoy your afternoon and I will see you all in school next Monday!! :-)
