English

In Term 5 we will be looking at the book 'Tell me a Dragon' by Jackie Morris. We will be beginning by writing non-chronological reports about dragons. Then we will be building on our descriptive looking at the key vocabulary required to create an advert for a dragon trap! We will then be moving on to write-balanced arguments using persuasive language based on preserving our locality.

Maths 

This Term we will be focusing on fractions, Money and Time. In Fractions, we will be adding and subtracting fractions focusing on the denominator. In Money, we will be adding and subtracting amounts and converting pounds into pence. In Time, we will be learning Roman Numerals and telling the time to 5 minutes and the minute.

Project (History and DT)

This Term our topic is 'Why should we preserve our locality'. We will be looking at listed buildings and castles, exploring timelines and the structure of a castle. In DT we will be designing, making and evaluating a trap to catch a dragon linking this to our English lessons with an advert for our designs.

RE

This Term our focus in RE is Pentecost – Serving. We will be discussing the power of fire and wind and how this energy can be used for good. We will be retelling the story of the Ascension and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
